No Politics Here!

A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF GALATIANS

Good Morning!

I woke up this morning at 4:30 am with some strange thoughts coming to my mind. The thoughts kept getting stronger and I began wondering what the results would become from those thoughts. I was thinking about what would the results be if Jesus were to run for president of America. I know...it sounds like a good waste of time. But, my mind kept going there and I could not bring it to a stop.

i need to tell you upfront that Jesus did not involve Himself in politics. Even though He had a strong interest in the government he chose not to be involved in the political factions of His day. So...this is a "what if" brainstorm.

What would Jesus use as His platform? One thing was certain. He would not be representing a political party we have established...Socialist, Democrat, Communist, Republican, Green Party, Libertarian, Green New Deal Party, Liberal Party, Conservative Party, etc.

What document would He use for His platform? Obviously, He would use the Bible, and the tenants pronounced in it. Then I was thinking, if He used the Bible then we would have to assume some things about His platform because of the teachings of the Bible.

For example, He would certainly be Pro-Life.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."  Psalm 139:13-16

"The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;

I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'" Jeremiah 1:4-5

"But when God, who from my mother's womb set me apart and called me by His grace..." Galatians 1:15

That life that is in the womb is something that His Father created and He knows that no one has the right to terminate it. Every unborn child is a gift from God!

Loving people would be of utmost importance to Jesus. He would come down hard on hatred and do all He could to promote caring for each other.

He, himself, was quoted as saying:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

This is the greatest and most important commandment.

The second is like it:

Love your neighbor as yourself.

ALL the law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40

He would teach that all of us are the same before a loving God. He would teach that there is no difference due to skin color or language differences or the nation in which you are living or any other attributes a person may or may not have.

Jesus would love the poor and teach us to do all we can to lift those who have specials needs in their lives.

He would be stout on obeying the law. Why wouldn't He...He gave us the law. Therefore, He would certainly stand with those who enforce the law.

He would not tolerate the act of lying that has permeated politicians today. Jesus would stand for truth and honesty.

These are a few things that ran through my mind very early this morning. Make sure you do not react in haste concerning Jesus being political. He is NOT a political person. To be involved in politics it would seem to me that you would have to wade in deep sin to be involved and noticed. The politicians during the days, while Jesus was on earth, were no better. Let's see...there was Herrod...the murderer; there was Pilate...who pronounced wrongful judgment on Jesus; there was Caiphas...a spineless high priest with a wicked and jealous heart toward Jesus and went along with the "Woke" movement of his day to crucify Jesus.

No, Jesus did not involve Himself with political issues.

If He were in America today, He would teach, heal, and encourage people of every race. He would be a Savior and not a divider. Except, just by His presence as the Messiah people would react to him differently and create divisions among themselves. They did the same when he came the first time.

No...Jesus is not a politician and has no desire to be one. Why would He? He is already THE King of Kings. He rules today, but, people are living as if they are in charge of people, earth, and the atmosphere. Don't stress over it. Nothing has gotten out of His control. Nothing WILL get out of his control.

Let's be reminded of Galatians 5:13-15:

"For you are called to FREEDOM, brothers;

only don't use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh,

but serve one another through love.

For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

But if you bite and devour one another, watch out, or you will be consumed by one another."

Do you see the real issues here? You are FREE! Your freedom came from God and NO MAN has the right or privilege to take it from you.

Second, love one another enough to serve one another. The law is of no use without love. The law is fulfilled by your love for others.

I leave you with this. Politicians are fulfilling the offices of politics. Jesus has filled the position of King of Kings!

May God Bless You!
