Living In The Middle...

A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF GALATIANS

Good Afternoon!

I read an interesting thought on Facebook...an unusual place for me to obtain important information regarding the Bible. Did you know that the shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117? Two verses:

"Praise the Lord, all nations!

Glorify Him, all peoples!

For great is His Faithful love to us;

the Lord's Faithfulness endures forever.

Hallelujah!"

Did you know that the longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119? ...176 verses.

AND, the middle chapter of all the Bible is Psalm 118...according to most modern English translations. There are 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and there are 594 chapters following Psalm 118. The middle verse of the entire Bible is Psalm 118:8 which says:

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord

than to trust in man."

This little tidbit of information struck me in various ways.

If you desire to know how to live your life...live it in the center of God's Word. It's powerful. Trust in the Lord and not man. If God says it...believe it and live by it. If a man says it...look it up to confirm it is from God.

During this pandemic and all other challenges...remember to be in the center of God's Word!

Your comfort is in the Lord. Your way is made clear in the Lord. Your wisdom comes from the Lord. Your strength comes from the Lord. Stay in the center of God's Word and trust the Lord implicitly.

Your Faith in the Lord will settle everything. That is why Paul tells you to have Faith in God alone for your Salvation. Your Faith in God can do for you what the law and good works cannot. We have the law because of sin. Read the reason for Faith. It came when Jesus, the promised Messiah, came to earth. He is the Seed of that promise.

"Why the law then?

It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise was made would come.

The law was ordered through angels by means of a mediator.

Now a mediator is not just for one person, but God is one.

Is the law therefore contrary to God's promises? Absolutely not!

For if a law had been given that was able to give life,

then righteousness would certainly be by the law.

But the Scripture has imprisoned everything under sin's power,

so that the promise by Faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

Before this Faith came, we were confined under the law,

imprisoned until the coming Faith was revealed.

The law, then, was our guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by Faith.

But since that Faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,

for you are all sons of God through Faith in Jesus Christ!" Galatians 319-26.

PRAISE GOD!!!

God did all this for you. Since Jesus has come, you put your Faith in Him to give to you eternal life.

AND, since Jesus has come you put your Faith in Him to live every day of your life until He comes!!!

Even though pandemics...broken relationships...and all other times. You trust Him.

It is heartbreaking for Linda and me to have Thanksgiving without our children and their families. It hurts. They are so unbelievably important in our lives.

For most of us, this will be a Thanksgiving that is different than what we are accustomed to. But, I know without a doubt that COVOD-19 is real. Pray for our pastor and his wife who discovered yesterday that they had been exposed to the virus. Pray for our friend, Pat, who tested positive for COVID. I know the virus is real.

But, greater than the reality of COVID is the reality that our is Lord greater than the virus. Living in the center of God's Word means we trust the Lord God with our lives!

NOW, live your life in the center of God's Word. Trust Him for everything in your life.

May God Bless You!
