Help or Hindrance?

A STUDY IN THE BOOK OF GALATIANS

Good Afternoon!

I'm feeling more and more like the lyrics of this song:

"This world is not my home

I'm just a passing through

My treasures are laid up

Somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me

From heaven's open door

And I can't feel at home

In this world anymore."

When the pressure was put on believers to abandon the Gospel...the writer of Galatians rejected the temptation. Those who tried to "enslave" him were "false brothers" and their temptation was rejected. Paul said,

"But we did not yield in submission to these people for even an hour, so that the truth of the Gospel would remain with you."  2:5.

The believers in the day of the Galatians would NOT bend to the lies of the community. They wanted the Gospel to be shared and received by those who had not experienced Faith in Jesus Christ. They DID NOT want the proclamation of the Gospel to be hindered for anyone.

I'm not sure what the effects of our community and our nation have on you, but, we need to face every challenge with the grace and mercy of God. If the election didn't go your way...it's okay, God is in control. If you worry...it is a sign that God is NOT in control or at least according to you He's not in control.

Do you know someone who needs desperately to hear and by Faith receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Joe Biden. Do you know who else needs to hear and receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Donald J. Trump. If you have had a strong dislike for either one of these guys then you have been at fault. Do you think that God dislikes either one of these guys? NO! He loves them. His desire is for them to come to Him by Faith. Just because they have a position of a high political level does not make them exempt from needing a Savior. Again, in Galatians Paul writes about those who he met who were considered "Important." Read the following from Galatians 2:6-7:

"But from those recognized as important (what they really were makes no difference to me; God does NOT show favoritism)

--those recognized as important added nothing to me.

On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the Gospel for the uncircumcised,

just as Peter was for the circumcised."

What do we do with the people who are in some political esteem? We pray for them because the same Jesus who died for us...died for them. There is no difference. Sure, some things will change with the election of new people into our government who have a different platform and idea for this nation, but, God will still be God and people will still need Jesus! There is one Gospel and it is for everyone. Their need for Jesus does not depend on a political party. If they are ProLife or not...they still need Jesus. The people who desire to take our nation toward socialistic values...need the Gospel.

This may sound a bit simple, but, our job is to vote the heart of God and proclaim the Gospel to all. I realize that voting the heart of God is challenging. Our best shot is to take the platform on which they stand and see how it compares to God's Word. Be fair to God and not bias to your upbringing or your political agenda.

We're coming up on an issue that divided many believers during the days of Paul. In fact, it was an issue that caused hindrances to sharing the Gospel.

May God Bless You!
